Condolences

Dear Ohev Tzedek Congregants and Friends:

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the death of Bob Rusnak, former president of Ohev Tzedek and husband of member Florine Rusnak. Funeral services will be held at Ohev Tzedek on Tuesday, August 29, at 3:00 pm, following visitation with the family from 2:00-3:00.

A shiva minyan will be held at the family home this Wednesday and Thursday evening at 7:30 pm.

May his family be blessed with strength and comfort in this time of loss. Baruch dayan ha’emet: Blessed is the righteous Judge.

The Ohev Tzedek garden is flourishing! Cherry tomatoes are ready for harvesting. Please feel free to come by any time and enjoy the fresh, organic produce!

Saturday, August 19: Services (Torah Portion: Re’eh) begin at 9:45 am. Next Saturday, August 26, is Simcha Shabbat. Please join us in celebrating August’s happy occasions.

High Holiday Reminders: The deadline for names the Yom Kippur Book of Remembrance is Monday, August 21. The office will also be placing an order for lulav/etrog sets for Sukkot; if you are interested, please note that the order must be placed by Tuesday, September 5 to ensure arrival by the holiday. Condolences, Mazel Tov, and Upcoming

Dear Ohev Tzedek Congregants and Friends:

We note with sorrow the passing of Joel Lackey, son of Martin and Ella Lackey (both deceased), after a long battle with cancer. Private services will be held at a future date.

We also note the passing of Fern Sacolick, daughter of Esther Sacolick and Eugene Sacolick (deceased). Fern leaves behind sister Shari of Boardman and brother Alan of Columbus. Services will be held at Fox Funeral Home on Market Street at 1 pm on Friday, August 11. There are no calling hours; interment will take place at Ohev Tzedek’s cemetery.

We extend our deepest condolences to their loved ones. May their memories be for a blessing.

This Week and Upcoming

Dear Ohev Tzedek Congregants and Friends:

Saturday, August 5: Services (Torah Portion: Va’etchanan) begin at 9:45 am. This Saturday will mark the first service under our new spiritual co-leadership. Please make every effort to attend services to support Sandy Kessler and Dario Hunter in this transition.

Both Sandy Kessler and Dario Hunter will hold regular office hours. Sandy will be available on Mondays from 9:30-11:30 am (except this coming Monday, August 7) and on Thursdays after Minyan until 11 am. Dario will be available on Wednesdays from 11 am-3 pm. Continue reading
